Background and personality info:
Fye and his identical twin, Yuuy, were born in Valeria, sons of the younger brother of the Emperor. This country had been expecting for the prince to be born, but instead of being just one, they were twins--a bad omen. Valeria started to go through a series of misfortunate events, and the twins were blamed for this. Their parents even killed themselves, knowing they'd brought these two kids to life.. Supposedly because they were causing all this horrible things to happen, and leading Valeria to its ruin, the twins were taken with the emperor. He said that they were to be blamed for all of what was happening, and that they could choose to end the country's misery in two ways. One of them was to decide for one of the twins to die--they both had an incredible magical power, and combined it was only worse--it was equal to that of the Emperor's, and when they grew up it'd be even stronger. If one of the twins died, then the country's misery would supposedly end. Fye and Yuuy just looked at each other, and held hands, showing that they wouldn't accept this. So, the second choice was used instead. The twins were sent to a valley where all the sinners in the country were thrown, never to rot; a place where magic didn't work. Fye was left inside a high tower in the middle of the valley, and Yuuy was left in the bottom of it, surrounded by corpses and snow.
Unable to do anything from where he was, Fye clinged to the bars in the only window of the cellar he was in, struggling to be able to see his brother at the bottom. Yuuy was trying to climb the walls to get outside, piling up corpses to help him, but not succeeding. Still, he kept trying, with an incredible determination, while Fye just watched him helplessly. They were both stuck there for a long, long time--how much, exactly, it is unknown, since the time there passed differently from outside. One day, around a year or so after their imprisonment (judging by the twins' hair-length), a large amount of bodies fell to the valley. Among them, women, babies, and older people were included.. Yuuy inspected the bodies, suspicious of these people being considered sinners. He learned, from a letter, that the Emperor had gone crazy and started murdering people in the country. The Valerian citizens once again blamed it all on the twins, and Yuuy, fighting back tears, tossed the letter away and kept trying to climb the wall to escape, wanting to free his brother and himself, and also to see what was going on in Valeria. A little later, the Emperor himself appears, and lets Yuuy know that they're the only ones left alive in Valeria. He commits suicide, condemning the kids to live there (since their magical power would keep them alive despite the lack of food) alone, never to get outside... It's at this point that the latest episode of Tsubasa ends, and where I'm pulling Fye from the story into Empyrean.
There's not really a lot of info on the twins, and even less on Fye, since he's supposedly the one who will end up dying... But well. While both twins are incredibly kind and sweet despite all the shit they go through, Fye seems to be slightly less hopeful and less strong-willed than his brother. This might be also because we only see him in the top of the tower, and he can see how it's impossible for Yuuy to actually climb that damned wall. Fye's devoted to his brother just as Yuuy is to him, and they both chose to go to that horrible place so that neither of them would die. Considering how young they were at the time, it's pretty amazing that they would accept the deal. While Yuuy was breaking his hands to climb the wall, Fye was doing the same with his own to cling to the windowbars and be able to watch his brother--he seems to be always next to the window, never really moving away or anything, just trying to feel closer to his brother. Later on, we'll find that he'll end up wishing to die, but this takes several years, and it's logical considering how awful their situation is. There was something else he wanted to do before dying, but that sentence is incomplete, so we don't know what it is he wanted yet.
